For @smokingtedsbbq i use Julia Child’s p salad with all kinds of add ons- hard boiled eggs, celery, herbs, and half sour cream. @franklinbbq is the opposite: 3 parts mayo to 1 part yellow mustard, chopped pickle + juice. Very simple and satisfying, a perfect contrast to rich bbq.
As far as kugel camps go, im in the sweet noods variety. But this adorable little grandma was so solicitous on her recipe that i had to try her savory potato one. She said use the food processor and i wish i had used it to shred instead of blend them for more texture. It tasted like a big hashbrown, latke flavor but not enough crunch, just greasy and bleh ☹️ sorry, Bubbie!
