@foodwastefeast tale of a 10 lb bag of potatoes πŸ₯”πŸ₯”πŸ₯” someone went overboard on the prepper pantry stash and i found a hidden sack in immediate need of use, so made them 3 different ways in tribute to @collitosway#1 potato fangirl πŸ’•πŸ’•πŸ’•

This grandma casserole recipe from Italy layers potatoes, peppers, tomatoes and onion with a thick mixture of minced ham, celery, garlic and parsley. That honey in the freezer has been like the menorah, the gift that keeps giving!Β 

For @smokingtedsbbq i use Julia Child’s p salad with all kinds of add ons- hard boiled eggs, celery, herbs, and half sour cream. @franklinbbq is the opposite: 3 parts mayo to 1 part yellow mustard, chopped pickle + juice. Very simple and satisfying, a perfect contrast to rich bbq. 

As far as kugel camps go, im in the sweet noods variety. But this adorable little grandma was so solicitous on her recipe that i had to try her savory potato one. She said use the food processor and i wish i had used it to shred instead of blend them for more texture. It tasted like a big hashbrown, latke flavor but not enough crunch, just greasy and bleh ☹️ sorry, Bubbie!
