This book is by an Indonesian author with Chinese parents who lived in Brazil and ended up being a cooking teacher in Seattle. The recipes are all intended to be quick and easy, flavorful as well as beautiful. I would never think to order sweet & sour shrimp but using fresh pineapple sounded like a tropical escape from the freezing wind and snow of March in Massachusetts. It was delicious and now we can apparently grow another pineapple from the top of this plant 🍍🍍🍍
